Longstanding litmag reviews Limehaven
Poetry magazine Envoi is currently celebrating its 60th anniversary. Packed with poetry and reviews, the magazine showcases work by new and established writers. Issue 175 included generous coverage of Limehaven by reviewer Robin Houghton.
Describing the poetry collection, Robin wrote: “The book rolls out with a joyous panache. Arthurs’ fondness for her grandparents is obvious… There is a gorgeous childlike voice to these poems, peppered with songs, rhymes and humour.”
Robin’s review highlighted the emotional range of the poems, from “the bittersweet echo of songs of war, bravado, love & loss” to “laugh-out-loud moments, often playing on sounds…”
An audiobook of Limehaven will be released at the end of September, with the full set of poems performed by the author. A new worldwide paperback edition, published by Cedarbird, will go on sale at the same time.
