IRON Book of Tree Poetry

The IRON Book of Tree Poetry

Spring is my favourite season and there are signs that it’s on its way. Banks of crocuses in the park. Daffodils blooming in my yard. And, this week, the arrival of The IRON Book of Tree Poetry (IRON Press, 2020)! I’m thrilled to have a poem in it.

It’s a beautifully produced little book with an eloquent and thoughtful introduction by woodsman and author Max Adams, who notes that trees, like poets, are witnesses…

The book contains fifty poems celebrating trees and all they bear witness to. The variations are glorious. As Mr Adams writes: “Trees and poets both: mysteries and wonders of creation; verse after verse and never the same.”

The book reads like a lovely mixed woodland. You’ll find new voices springing up alongside established poets, such as Debjani Chatterjee, Linda France, Kate Fox, Pippa Little, Jacob Polley and many more. The IRON Book of Tree Poetry is available now from Inpress Books or the publisher IRON Press.
